With 50 world titles and over six thousand engines per year, IAME Spa is a world leader in the kart engine sector. In the competitive world since 1968, it has positioned itself by offering high quality services and products. In 2015, Iame began the journey of production management and optimisation with eNX® InteGRa, before evolving towards Industry 4.0 and enriching the functionalities of the MES system. The basic structure consists of the finite capacity planner, suitably configured for the management of the mechanical construction factory, with a focus on precision machining and quality control, and extended to the MES system which is also configured and integrated via hardware and software specifically made for the operational management of manufacturing production and capable of machine interconnection for industrial production data of the entire machine fleet, from lathes to multi-pallet systems. A progressive improvement process implemented through the following points was made possible with an appropriate project shared and carried out with Iame’s contact people:
- Customer order entry in AGOMIR’s InteGRa
- inteGRa and eNX® system interaction
- Checking the parts list
- Generation of production orders and purchase requests
- Order planning
- Taking production orders
- Waste monitoring
- Warehouse picking list management
- Graphical monitoring of production data and statistics
- Dynamic production monitoring
- In-process control testing
- Historical control of quality values
- Purchase request confirmation
- Production cost reporting in inteGRa
The case of IAME also confirms that the outcome of the insertion of the computerised management system into established and efficient production companies was possible and, in fact, satisfactory, thanks to the complete collaboration between the different professional skills of the staff, customers, suppliers and participants.
