Predictive analytics and Industry 4.0: the future of your company, before it happens
Premonitions? Prophecies? Intuitions? No, with GP Progetti the future of your company is the result of the collection and analysis of data and of the planning and monitoring activities performed by advanced production management software, to keep every production process under control.
Predictive analytics with GP Progetti’s software for advanced production management
Anticipating the future is certainly among the priorities of every company. How can you do it? GP Progetti talks about it in his new spot: don’t rely on the crystal ball to predict the evolution of your company. The tools to perform predictive analysis according to an Industry 4.0 perspective are quite different, like the advanced GP Progetti production management software.
What’s the aim of predictive analytics?
Achieving greater efficiency in production processes is the goal of predictive analytics. Through this approach it is possible to prevent machinery malfunctions, which are among the main causes of interruptions and delays in production. Predictive maintenance is part of the new Industry 4.0 model, capable of limiting technical contingencies and thus avoiding economic damage to the company. Thanks to the predictive interventions it is therefore possible to operate on the machinery to plan the action before real faults occur. Production planning does not only concern activities, products and raw materials, but also the tools involved in the processes and their functioning. Thanks to a production monitoring software it is possible to adopt this preventive and predictive approach. GP Progetti proposes eSphere, which allows you to manage production in a flexible way and to know in advance the future impact of any change in planning.
The advantages of predictive analytics:
- Reduce intervention costs
- Reduce downtime
With the condition monitoring the parameters of the machines are measured and monitored, thanks to the Internet of Things and the installed sensors.

Internet of Things in the company: interconnection with GP Progetti
“Internet of things” is the expression used for real objects connected to the Internet and interconnected with each other. This technology makes objects smart, able to send information in real time through the network. An example? A refrigerator that orders milk when it picks up with its sensors that it is finished or that alerts you if a food is about to expire. Or the home thermostat that regulates independently temperature. And what about the Internet of Things in the company?
The potentialities related to the IOT in the company are considerable. Talking about the Internet of Things means involving Industry 4.0, because it refers to the interconnection between machines and to the circulation of data between machinery and humans. Indeed, we can say that industry 4.0 would not exist without the Internet of Things technology. The IOT, with its network, is in fact able to let information circulate and to make objects equipped with sensors “communicate” in real time.
The advantages and potential of IOT in the company
When the Internet of Things comes in the company, it makes it smart. Just think of the enormous potential that this technology offers to optimize and improve production processes. Such as? For example, a company knows the status of a product placed on the market if it communicates with the motherhouse. So, the detection of problems and defects takes place in real time, precisely because the product manages to “talk” with the site and its operators.
Let’s think about a manufacturing company that performs a periodic maintenance service on customer’s machines. If these machines are equipped with special sensors, they can communicate with the parent company to alert its technicians in real time about the need for routine or extraordinary maintenance.
The Internet of Things connects infrastructures, products and applications, thus creating a constantly interconnected environment. Do you want more information to bring the Internet of things in your company? Contact us for a meeting.
